Racine---About two-dozen demonstrators were arrested for blocking traffic at a busy downtown intersection late Monday afternoon. They were part of a group of several hundred protestors who were seeking renewal of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. The demonstration began earlier Monday when dozens of students walked out of Horlick High School and marched to Monument Square. Those arrested included the two Democrats who are seeking their party's nomination in the 1st Congressional District. Other demonstrators were from Milwaukee and Madison. Those arrested were hauled off in police transport vans, ticketed then released.

Racine---A drunk driver who killed a father and his daughter a year and a half ago was given a 20 year-long prison term Monday. 27 year-old Levi Ruohonen had a blood-alcohol content of more than three times the legal limit when he rear-ended a vehicle at a high rate of speed, killing Kevin Dalley and his nine year-old daughter Emily. The accident occurred after Ruohonen had come off a night shift, then spent the day playing hockey and drinking.

Racine---The case of the Greyhound bus that authorities initially thought was being held hostage on I-94 in January was the result of a belligerent drunk and a couple of misunderstandings. 34 year-old Margarito Vargas-Rosas pleaded guilty to one count of disorderly conduct Monday and was sentenced to time already served. He's expected to be deported. A passenger on the bus mistakenly believed the Vargas-Rosas had a gun. The driver of the bus apparently was oblivious to the ruckus that was going on behind him. And that's why he apparently kept driving when deputies tried to pull him over. Spike strips had to be deployed to stop the bus. The defendant was then taken into custody.
