(WGTD)---Kenosha Clerk of Courts Rebecca Matoska-Mentink is calling it quits.
She’s retiring from the position she’s held for the past 20 years when her current term expires at the end of the year.
Matoska-Mentink made it official Monday by filing a “Notification of Non-Candidacy.”
The election to fill the position will be held in November, with an August primary if one is needed.
The deadline for filing papers to enter the race is June 1st.
In a Facebook post, Matoska-Mentink thanked those who’ve supported her along the way.
She began her career in county government in an entry level clerical position in the Child Support Agency. She eventually transferred to the District Attorney’s office before becoming Clerk of Courts.
