(WGTD)---New coronavirus-related deaths were reported Wednesday in Kenosha, Racine and Walworth counties. Kenosha County's 15th death was announced Wednesday night by the Kenosha County Health Department Director during her weekly telephone briefing. The Central Racine County Health Dept. (everything except Racine, Wind Point & Elmwood Park) reported its 11th death. And a death in Walworth County brought that county’s total up to nine. Statewide, deaths were up by 9 but hospitalizations were down by 29 to 299.

(WGTD)---A 57-year-old Kenosha woman was arrested Tuesday night after trying to push her way past sheriff’s deputies in order to attend a closed meeting of the Kenosha County Board. Mary Magdalen Moser—a one-time Kenosha City Council candidate—is facing charges of resisting arrest and obstruction. Moser apparently was unhappy because the board is not giving members of the public a chance to attend its meetings in person in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Instead, citizens can attend meetings virtually or listen in by telephone. According to a news release from the sheriff’s department, Moser tried to enter the Administration Building through a secured employee entrance. When told that the meeting was closed, Moser purportedly refused to take ‘no’ for an answer and then tried to brush past a deputy. Moser was handcuffed, escorted out of the building then released without being hauled off to jail.

(WPR)---A Republican-backed stay-at-home order in Wisconsin would include a shift to regional restrictions and a move away from a state list of so-called "essential businesses," the leader of the state Assembly said Wednesday. GOP lawmakers who control the Legislature have been pushing back on the Evers administration’s "Safer at Home" order for weeks, but have been slow to introduce their own comprehensive plan. Speaking at an online Wisconsin Health News event Wednesday morning, Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, R-Rochester, said he hopes Republicans will never have to debut their own proposal. He would prefer to have a "seat at the table" while the executive branch drafts changes to its current order. "There has been no consultation (with lawmakers), there has been no sitting down," Vos said. "From my perspective, there should not be a Democrat plan and a Republican plan to fight the virus, there should be a Wisconsin plan." Vos and other legislative leaders met with the governor Monday to discuss the state’s response to COVID-19. In a statement released afterward, Vos called that meeting a "good initial discussion."
