(WGTD)---The Kenosha School Board Tuesday night approved a series of budget moves designed to divvy up some $7 million in previously unallocated funds.
According to the board agenda, the money is the result of a variety of unanticipated factors, including extra state revenue, lower staffing expenses due to falling enrollment and lower employee health insurance costs. The stipend offsets higher employee health insurance costs.
Administration's proposals were approved with little discussion.
Recommendations included a $1,000, one-time stipend for full-time employees, financing mostly minor building improvements at 20 schools, adding full-time security personnel to the district’s five comprehensive middle schools and expanding welding classes.
