Pleasant Prairie: South Sheridan at 165 to be Closed to Thru Traffic for the Summer

May 25, 2022 2:45p

(WGTD)---A major gateway to Kenosha will be closed to thru traffic for much of the summer.

The intersection of state highways 32 and 165 will be closed from the day after Memorial Day to nearly Labor Day.

The transportation department says the intersection will be revamped to make it safer and improve traffic flow. New pavement, turn lanes and traffic signals will be installed.

While south Sheridan Rd. will be closed to thru traffic, access to all homes and businesses in the area will be maintained.

While inconveniencing many drivers, the full closure of the t-intersection will allow crews to complete the project much sooner, according to a DOT spokesman.

The cost of the project is a little over $1 million.
