(WGTD)---A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held this week to mark the completion of the first apartments in a 266-unit complex on the grounds of the old Regency Mall.
"It's a great investment in the city," Racine Mayor Cory Mason said of the Hull Group's $120 million project that includes the apartments and the partial demolition of the mall to make way for a new Woodman's grocery store.
The apartments—called Pritchard Park Place---range in cost from $1,150 for the smallest studio apartment to about $2,400 for the largest two-bedroom. Amenities include in-unit washer and dryers, a fitness center, a fenced-in dog park, a clubhouse, a golf simulator and grilling stations.
Hull Vice-President of Multi-Family Development Dan Troutman compared Pritchard to the Breakwater Apartments at Racine’s lakefront minus the lake view.
Pritchard Park includes fees on top of the monthly rent. There’s a fee for internet/water/sewer and trash pickup that ranges from $115 to $135. Parking costs range from $25 for an outdoor slip to $95 for underground parking. There’s a one-time amenity fee of $250 and a $500 reservation fee that’s only applied if you wind up living there. A background check costs $25 and the security deposit is $1,000.
Troutman says he’s pleased with the initial interest shown by potential tenants.
