From Racine County:

RACINE – Racine County Veterans Services, in partnership with Team Rubicon, will host a donation drive to benefit Afghan refugees on Saturday, Oct. 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations will be accepted at the Racine County Department of Human Services located at 1717 Taylor Ave. in Racine.

"Our first donation event was hugely successful, but our mission is still not complete," said Racine County Veterans Service Officer Zachary Zdroik. "Some of these refugees arrived here with almost nothing. I can't imagine what it must be like for these families, but we have an opportunity to help them in their moment of need. Please do what you can to help."

Donations will go to the approximately 10,000 refugees from Afghanistan housed at Fort McCoy, a U.S. Army installation located east of La Crosse.

A list of possible donation items is available below. Donations should be new and unopened. Monetary donations can be made here.
