For the first time since the pandemic began, face masks are now option in Kenosha Unified school buildings. The school board voted unanimously Tuesday night to step up the timetable from going mask-free. The original plan called for doing away with the mask mandate on March 28th, the start of the 4th quarter. But with COVID transmission rates continuing to fall, the board decided last night to end the requirement immediately in all classrooms with the exception of those used by Head Start, a program that's govererned by federal rules. Masks are still required as a matter of federal law on school buses.
