From WGTD News:

The Kenosha County Sheriff's Dept. confirmed Friday that Riggs is expected to recover. Riggs was the police dog shot in the forehead as he apprehended a homicide suspect who was running from deputies at Highways 50 and 45 in Bristol Thursday. The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Allen Brown of Countryside, Illinois, was also shot, and is said to be in stable condition.

A date has been set for a special Kenosha Unified School District electors meeting. It'll be held Monday, Nov. 8th at 7 p.m. at Indian Trail High School and Academy. A group seeking to overturn actions taken at the district's annual meeting in September petitioned for the special meeting. The district says members of the public who attend will be asked to show proof of identification or complete an oath of residency upon registering as a resident or non-resident, and will be required to wear a mask. Only residents of the district will be allowed to vote on matters that are raised.

A section of road near a new Kroger fulfillment center off of Highway 'H' in Pleasant Prairie has officially reopened after a construction project to accommodate the needs of the large facility. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Friday. The nearly mile-long reconstruction project included new turn lanes and drainage and lighting improvements. When it opens next year with a 400-person payroll, the fulfillment center will deliver groceries and other items to homes and businesses in southeast Wisconsin and northeast Illinois. Costs of the road improvements were covered with the help of a nearly $1 million grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
