(WGTD)---Monday night's meeting of the Racine School Board could be a pivotal one for the district. Superintendent Eric Gallien is expected to reveal his long-range facilities master plan that's designed to capture, as he put it a few months ago, a greater "market share" of the student-age population. Folded into the plan could include a recommendation to approve a proposed charter school. Plans for the proposed Racine Scholars Academy are expected to be reviewed. The work session, in which no formal action will be taken, is scheduled to begin at 6.

(WGTD)---For the past six years, the victim-witness office in the Racine County District Attorney's office has been spearheading a gift drive for the children of the county's recent homicide victims. The club isn't as exclusive as you might think. Some 35 children are on the list this year. Donors who sign up to help are given the age and gender of a child, and are requested to buy a gift worth no more than $20. Colleen Conley, who works in the office, says the gifts are a way of staying in touch with the families. All of the names on this year's list have already been assigned to donors, but Conley says the office won't turn away any additional offers of help.

(WGTD)---A burned-out head lamp prompted a Racine County Sheriff's deputy to make a stop on I-94 over the weekend that yielded a pair of drug-related arrests. The strong odor of fresh marijuana emanating from the van led to a search, and the recovery of three-quarters of a pound of pot, THC edible gummies, vape cartridges and drug paraphernalia. The two men who were inside the van were arrested. Both have prior drug convictions.

(WGTD)---The Canadian Pacific's holiday train will be rolling through Kenosha and Racine counties Monday night. Two stops are scheduled: One at the Amtrak station in Sturtevant at 7; the other--a new stop--at The Depot Tavern on Highway 'G' at 8:15. The brightly-lit train includes a stage with live performances. Donations of non-perishable items will be collected on behalf of the Racine County Food Bank.

(WGTD)---The latest plans for the reconstruction of Highway 50 from I-94 all the way to 43rd Ave. in Kenosha will be laid out for the public Tuesday night. The open house at Journey Church on Highway 50 will run from 5-7, but there'll be a presentation beginning at 5:30. The entire stretch is expected to be re-built. Some lanes will be added as well.

(WGTD)---An extra week of curb-side leaf and other yard waste pickup has been added in Kenosha this week. The service was scheduled to end last week.
