(WGTD)---The appointment of a special prosecutor in a domestic violence case that involved Kenosha County District Attorney Xavier Solis has not resulted in any charges.
A resident of the Bristol neighborhood where the 47 year-old Solis lives called 911 the evening of July 19th to report “screaming and yelling” and the sounds of things breaking coming from Solis’ home, according to a Walworth County Sheriff’s Office report in which Solis’ name was redacted.
Deputies from Kenosha County were initially summoned, but deputies from Walworth County soon arrived to take over the case because of the conflict of interest. Their reports were eventually evaluated by a special prosecutor from the neighboring county.
According to the report, the mother of three of Solis’ children arrived at Solis’ home to pick them up following a daylong, heated disagreement over custody issues, played out in text messages and culminating in the in-person confrontation.
Solis’ decision to film the encounter further inflamed the interaction, the report indicated. Two videos that were viewed by the deputies showed the woman creating a disturbance in both the home and the neighborhood, the report said.
While the 27 year-old woman claims the confrontation never got physical, Solis says at one point he was shoved.
It all was enough for the state’s mandatory arrest requirement to kick in, even though Solis told deputies he did not wish to press charges.
Deputies’ body-cam videos shows the woman calmly responding to questions and later being handcuffed and driven to the Walworth County Jail to be booked on a charge of Disorderly Conduct Domestic Violence. She was released later that night after posting a $150 bond.
The arrest does not appear to have led to formal charges.
