(WGTD)---The new school year at Carthage College sees a record first-year enrollment: 959 undergraduate freshmen and over 100 transfer students.
Carthage President John Swallow talked about the geographic makeup of the freshmen class last week on the WGTD Morning Show. 75% come from within a 100 mile radius while 25% call home a point within 25 miles of the school.
Swallow attributes the growth in enrollment to new programs, the personal connection that a small school like Carthage offers, and the hard work of faculty and staff.
Campus improvements include renovations to Siebert Chapel and the Wartburg Theater. Coming up next year the college plans to start renovating its older dormitories.
