Tolefree in Court; Foxconn Partnerships; Carthage Award; Weather Advisory

(NWS)---A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect until Saturday evening as the result of a forecast that includes snow, freezing rain, drizzle, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Two to four inches are expected Friday evening, with less than an inch of additional accumulation on Saturday.

(WGTD)---Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave issued a declaration of emergency in response to severe shoreline damage that was sustained in the City of Racine as a result of last weekend's bad weather. The office says the declaration will better position the city as it seeks state and federal help for repairing the damage.

(WGTD)---The former Bradford High School administrator who's accused of having near daily sex with a student some eleven years ago waived his preliminary hearing in Kenosha Court Friday. Arraignment for Curtiss Tolefree was scheduled for Mar. 11th. Meanwhile, the prosecutor in the case has taken the unusual step of trying to keep the names of the victim and prospective witnesses out of the open court file. James Kraus is asking a judge to grant his motion. "The state believes that if the list of victims and witnesses is widely distributed, it would cause lasting and substantial emotional harm to the victims and witnesses," Kraus wrote.

(AP)---Taiwan-based Foxconn and Fiat Chrysler are talking about joining forces to develop and manufacture battery-powered vehicles. If a deal is reached, the venture would focus first on China, the biggest market for electric cars with 1.2 million sold last year--half the global total.

Carthage College is winning kudos for placing an emphasis on overseas studies. The Institute of International Education ranked Carthage #3 in the U.S. for short-term study abroad participation. About 50% of the school's class of 2019 studied abroad at some point during their undergraduate careers.
