Kenosha---President Trump is expected to speak at Snap-On's headquarters on 80th St. early Tuesday afternoon.
A formal announcement from the White House is expected on Monday.
The purpose of the visit isn't clear. But Kenosha is the hometown of Trump's Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, and lies within the congressional district of House Speaker Paul Ryan.
According to WITI-TV, Ryan won't be able to attend the event because he'll be helping to lead a congressional delegation that's visiting NATO allies.
However, Gov. Walker is expected to join Trump. Walker may have more to say about Trump's appearance when he visits Burlington Monday afternoon to sign a bill authorizing the use of a marijuana extract in treating seizures.
Preparations for the Trump visit to Kenosha were launched late last week, according to media reports. Semi-trailers were brought in to cordon off a section of Snap-On's parking lot. Several military-styled helicopters touched down Saturday behind the trucks in what appeared to be a dry run for the president's visit. They left after a few minutes.
The Snap-On complex includes a large auditorium that's been the scene of several Paul Ryan town halls and appearances in recent years.
Trump's scheduled appearance will undoubtedly intensify a political spotlight that's been on the county since the November election when Trump beat Hillary Clinton. Even though Trump's margin of victory was small--fewer than 300 votes---the county until recently could be counted on to vote Democratic. The City of Kenosha remains a Democratic stronghold. Clinton took the city by a 17-point margin.
