(WGTD)---The six year-old Kenosha County Food Bank has teamed up with a long-time social service organization in the area.
The Racine Kenosha Community Action Agency has signed on to perform some operational tasks for the Food Bank, including making deliveries and writing grants.
In a trade off, the agency will continue to store food in a Food Bank walk-in refrigerator but at no charge. The refrigerator is located at the Racine County Food Bank--a partnership that was previously struck.
Kenosha County Food Bank Board President Teri Knuese said the new arrangement creates operational efficiencies.
Food banks in both Kenosha and Racine act as a middleman between donors and the consumer-facing food pantries that the food banks help to supply.
