Viral Comment Towards Militia To Be Allowed At Rittenhouse Trial

(WGTD)---  “We appreciate you guys.. we really do,” the remark made by police officers towards militia members and viewed millions of times on social media, led Kyle Rittenhouse to believe his actions may have been warranted so says his defense.

Defense Attorney Corey Chirafisi argued during a motion hearing in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial Monday that the remarks played into Rittenhouse’s “state of mind” and may have led Rittenhouse to believe his actions were not “reckless.” The remark was made before Rittenhouse shot and killed two people and injured a third. Judge Bruce Schroeder ruled the evidence will be allowed at trial and denied the state’s motion to remove it.

The defense also revealed plans to show that members of the militia were asked to defend car dealership “Car Source,” then located on 63rd Street and Sheridan Road in Kenosha. Rittenhouse, the defense claims, was stationed at that dealership.

In other business, Judge Bruce Schroeder will allow testimony from defense use of force expert Dr. John R. Black tied only to “scientific and technical” details of the timing and events surrounding the firing of shots. The State will no longer call their expert.

The defense will also be allowed to use the terms “rioters,” “looters” and, “arsonists” to describe Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber during the trial. The state filed a motion to dismiss evidence of the conduct of Rosenbaum and Huber during the riots on August 25th 2020. The motion was denied.

The trial is set to begin November 1st.
