(WGTD)---Several thousand customers of We Energies were spending early Wednesday evening with no power following a line of thunderstorms that pushed through the state.
As of 7 p.m., more than 9,000 customers were affected in the City of Kenosha, with about a third of them in a pocket on the city's south side. 1,600 customers were without power in Racine County while 1,800 We Energies homes and businesses in Walworth County were without.
Strong winds appeared to be the main culprit. The Kenosha Regional Airport reported a wind gust of 60 mph. Spotters in other parts of the state estimated peak winds to be over 80 mph.
