(WGTD)---Although the city has set aside money for site preparation, a Kenosha Unified spokesperson says talks are still underway over the possibility of moving LakeView Technology Academy to the vacant Chrysler Engine Plant site in the heart of the city.

City officials revealed last week that $1.3 million from federal COVID relief funds have been earmarked for a parking lot and utilities for a new high school.

KUSD spokesperson Tanya Ruder notes that LakeView has outgrown its current home in leased space off of County ‘H’ in Pleasant Prairie.

She says Kenosha Unified and LakeView partners Gateway Technical College and the Kenosha Area Business Alliance have been studying whether it’s financially feasible to relocate LakeView to the Kenosha Innovation Neighborhood, as the Chrysler site is now known.
