Noteworthy

"Noteworthy" is a show that features local musicians playing their songs and telling their stories and airs occasionally. The program is co-hosted by Bill Robbins and Kerry Spitzer.

Bill Robbins

Bill Robbins is an award-winning journalist whose stories and photos have appeared in The Milwaukee Journal, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times and USA Today. He was a longtime feature writer for the Kenosha News before retiring from the paper in 2013. He began playing bass guitar at age 14 and learned to play acoustic, six-string guitar as an adult. He has performed professionally with numerous local bands over the decades. He currently plays and sings with the classic-rock band, The Deadliners, the folk, blues and classic-rock trio The Fugitives and as a multi-genre solo artist. "Noteworthy" is his first venture as a radio-show host.

Kerry Spitzer

Kerry Spitzer is a prolific composer, songwriter, arranger, producer, audio engineer, and journeyman multi-instrumentalist specializing in electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin, keyboards, banjo, and many other out-of-the-way stringed instruments. He is known for playing bottleneck (slide guitar), fingerstyle guitar and banjo. He is an expert at playing rock, blues, Celtic, Gypsy jazz, folk and bluegrass. His 60-year career includes many recording sessions as a sideman and five self-produced solo albums playing almost every instrument. He lost his voice to cancer in 2015, but is able to speak with the aid of a device placed in his throat. He can no longer sing, but plays his compositions instrumentally.
