(WGTD)---Warrants have been issued for five Illinois residents who are accused of looting a store during the Jacob Blake riots last summer.
The suspects range in age from 22 to 31, and either live in Waukegan or Round Lake Beach.
Authorities were able to finger the suspects through old-fashioned detective work, technology and a tip.
Surveillance video caught the looters breaking glass to get into GNT Jewelry and Loan at 7944 Sheridan Road. They removed thousands of dollars worth of electronics.
Almost immediately, police were tipped off to the license plate numbers of two getaway vehicles.
The investigation included examinations of Facebook pages and conversations with police officers from various jurisdictions within Lake County who were familiar with some of the suspects.
A criminal complaint indicates that one suspect pawned off the stolen goods within two days of the burglary.
All of the defendants are charged with burglary, theft and criminal damage to property.
