(WGTD)---As those of us who voted early know, fall election ballots in Wisconsin are packed with candidates and issues.

In-person voting at the polls Tuesday will begin at 7 a.m. The polls close at eight p.m. Election coverage on WGTD from NPR and Wisconsin Public Radio will begin at 7 p.m. in addition to updates on wpr-dot-org and wgtd-dot-org.

At the top of the ballots statewide are races for governor, attorney general, secretary of state and treasurer.

In the 1st congressional district that includes all of Kenosha, Racine and Walworth counties plus some adjacent locations, Republican incumbent Bryan Steil is being challenged by Democrat Mitch Berman.

There are two races for state senate in the area. In the 11th district, which includes parts of Kenosha, Racine, Walworth and Rock counties, Republican Ellen Schutt and Democrat Adam Duda are seeking to replace the retiring Steve Nass. In the 21st, Republican Jim Croft and Democrat Trevor Jung are running for the seat currently held by Van Wanggaard

For state Assembly, more than eight races touch parts of the tri-county area. One name that won’t be on the ballot is Robin Vos. The Assembly Speaker is retiring. Seeking to take his place is Republican Steve Wicklund, president of the Village of Union Grove and Democrat Maria Bisabarros, a retired teacher and business owner.

At the county level, there are races for sheriff in Kenosha, Racine and Walworth counties. The men who hold those positions in both Racine and Walworth counties are retiring. In Kenosha County, Sheriff Dave Zoerner is seeking re-election. He’s drawn opposition from write-in candidate Gary Roberts.

There’s a race for Kenosha County Clerk of Courts following the retirement announcement of Rebecca Matoska-Mentink.

In addition, there are several school funding referendum issues and three statewide questions.
