Arrest Made In Burlington Area Hit & Run

(WGTD)---A 41-year-old Burlington area man has been identified as the driver of a pickup that struck a We Energies flagger Tuesday then fled the scene.

Acccording to a news release from the Racine County Sheriff's Dept., Bob Slominski confessed, saying he didn't stop because he panicked. 

At the time, Slominski purportedly was enroute to an Alcohol & Other Drug Abuse treatment program. Slominski's record includes two drunk driving convictions, a pending OWI and a conviction for hit and run. 

The sheriff's department release said Slominski was tracked down after the department received a number of tips. A description and images of the offending vehicle had previously been published. 

The accident occurred near the intersection of S. Honey Lake and Spring Prairie just before noon on Tuesday.  

The woman who was struck was identified in social media posts as 28-year-old Karlee Rybarczyk. 

According to a gofundme post, Rybarczyk suffered two broken legs, a broken arm and other injuries.
