Both the State Senate and Assembly Flip From Red to Blue

Nov. 4, 12:30a

(WGTD)---The blue wave that swept the nation Tuesday did not bypass the Wisconsin legislature.

Democrats flipped both houses from Republican control, giving Gov.-Elect Crowley a better chance to accomplish his agenda. It’ll be the first time that Democrats will control both houses since the 2009-2010 session.

Locally, Democrat Trevor Jung defeated Republican Jim Croft in the 21st district. Jung will replace Van Wanggaard who decided against a re-election bid. The 11th senate district will remain in Republican hands, as Ellen Schutt defeated Adam Duda to replace the retiring Steven Nass.

In Robin Vos’ Assembly district, Republican Steve Wicklund defeated Maria Bisabarros.

Incumbents won in other Assembly districts in the tri-county area of Kenosha, Racine and Walworth.
