(WGTD)---A Caledonia contractor who has drawn angst from drivers and public officials in Racine County for delays in completing a major road reconstruction project has run into difficulties in Waterford. But Cornerstone Pavers appears to be on track in Kenosha.
According to a report in the Journal Times, Cornerstone has been removed as a subcontractor from the Highway 20/83 project in downtown Waterford. The reasons aren’t entirely clear.
Just this week in Kenosha, Cornerstone owner Chris Cape appeared before that city’s Public Works Department to provide a monthly report on another project--one that covers a five-block stretch of 60th St. Cape reported—and city officials confirmed—that that project is on schedule.
The company originally drew fire in Mt. Pleasant for delays in completing the Highway “M-M” project. That project has been going on for a year-and-a-half and still isn’t done.
Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave was so frustrated last November that he told the paper that if it was up to him Cornerstone would never work in Racine County again.
