Court Report

Bond for a 53 year-old Kenosha man who stabbed a man in a convenience store parking lot Monday following a road rage incident was set at $75,000 Wednesday. In granting the prosecution's request, Court Commissioner Jon Mason cited Carver's criminal record, which included several cases of disorderly conduct and domestic violence, albeit from the 1990's and early 2000's. According to the criminal complaint, the victim says he punched Carver as Carver approached him in the parking lot of Kwik Trip at 80th St. and 39th Ave. Carver then stabbed the victim in the middle back-side of his rib cage, collapsing a lung. Police found Carver at his home, where they also discovered guns and a marijuana growing operation. In addition to a charge of first degree reckless injury, Carver faces two drug-related counts.

In other court developments Wednesday:

A 60 year-old Racine man appeared in Racine Court to face a felony charge of filing a phony insurance claim. Willie Buckley allegedly staged a fender-bender with two other men, then filed a claim for thousands of dollars of medical cost reimbursements. Insurance investigators, noting a history of claims from the man, went to work. They examined surveillance camera video of the purported accident that acted to challenge the notion that anyone could've possibly been injured by the level of contact between the two vehicles.

And a 19 year-old Madison man is facing a felony charge for having sex with a 16 year-old Burlington girl. According to the criminal complaint, Marcellus White, in social media exchanges with the girl, gave a phony name and portrayed himself to be a 17 year-old. The two initially met in person at a roller skating rink.
