(WGTD)---Kenosha County Judge Jodi Meier says she'll decide at the end of the murder trial currently underway in her court on whether to issue sanctions against Kenosha County District Attorney Xavier Solis.

On several occasions this week, Solis failed to comply with routine, pre-trial requirements that he turn over materials related to the case to the defense.

Solis is prosecuting 42 year-old Justin Tercek for allegedly killing a man whom he believed was trespassing in the home of his grandmother. It turned out that the woman's estate had sold the home and the victim was entitled to be there.

On Tuesday, Solis was late in providing the criminal histories of some of the witnesses, and in one case, couldn’t say for sure that the records he provided was actually for the witness in question. .

Defense attorneys also complained that Solis gave them a stack of discovery while the trial was in progress.

On Wednesday, Solis turned over new autopsy photos, and there was additional controversy over criminal histories.

According to court minutes, the defense attorneys asked that the proposed sanctions against Solis include a monetary component.

On Tuesday, the court minutes quoted Meier as saying the actions of the prosecutor are “extremely unacceptable.”

Solis' office has been under pressure for months because of short staffing. The roster of assistant district attorneys is about half of what is authorized.
