(WGTD)---During a press conference at the Kenosha County safety building Monday, Kenosha District Attorney Mike Gravely announced that he hopes the U.S. Attorney's office will launch a civil rights inquiry into the Jacob Blake shooting. The feds have thus far only offered assistance in the state investigation. This, on top of the investigation already underway by the State. Gravely said that Kenosha Police have referred the investigation to the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation in partnership with State District Attorney Josh Kaul.

Once DCI completes their investigation, all documentation will be turned back over to Gravely. He’ll then make a decision on whether or not to prosecute.

Gravely says he hopes that a parallel U.S. Attorneys led civil rights investigation would “allow the city to heal sooner.”
