Parking Ramp to Open Monday in Downtown Kenosha

(WGTD)---A 364-stall parking ramp is scheduled to open Monday in downtown Kenosha to relieve some of the area's parking pressures.

The municipally-owned structure is located just east of the Post Office. Parking for the public is free, while some spaces will be leased out to nearby Herzing University and other entities.

Mayor John Antaramian says care was put into the structure's design to make it look as good as possible. "With all the different projects that'll be happening--a new city hall, a performing arts center-- and all the other things that we're looking to do, you want the building to look good," Antaramian said. "We're pleased with the way it's turned out."

The $8 million ramp is five stories tall, but the top floor will be closed during the winter months.
