The State of Racine County is Strong According to County Exec Jonathan Delagrave

Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave's fourth State of the County address---last night---started out emphasizing all that's happened with economic development---in a short amount of time---led---of course---by Foxconn.  But, he took note of the importance of local businesses, too. Delagrave said the prospect of job growth also presented the need to help connect citizens with needed job and employment skills.

Delagrave also noted quality of life enhancements include the soon-to-open SC Johnson Community Aquatic Center as a catalyst toward a much bigger plan for activities at Pritchard Park. While noting what's been accomplished so far, Delagrave also said the high level of communication & collaboration MUST continue for continued regional success.  He added: "I think we can all tell we are in a defining moment for Racine County," and "with the tremendous steps forward we have taken together, I am convinced that a new horizon awaits."

Incidentally---for the first time anyone's memory, and since the position of Racine County Executive was created decades ago, the State of the County address was delivered away from the County Board chambers. Last night---it was presented at the River Bend Nature Center as part of the board's regular business meeting.
