Burlington---An arrest warrant has been issued for a former employee of a Burlington grocery store who allegedly stole over $50,000 over a nearly two-year period. 47-year-old Jamie Szarfinski was a front-end manager at Gooseberries and reportedly was able to camouflage the thefts by faking merchandise returns. According to online records, Szarfinski failed to make her first court appearance Thursday. Late last year, when the thefts were uncovered, Szarfinski told an investigator that she knew stealing was wrong but couldn't stop.
