(WGTD)---Three Mt. Pleasant Police Department squad cars were damaged in a chase that began Saturday night in Kenosha County and ended in Racine County.
The department received notice at about 9:30 that a Kenosha County sheriff’s deputy was pursuing a vehicle north on Sheridan Rd. into Racine County.
Lending a helping hand, Mt. Pleasant officers laid down tire-puncturing stop sticks at “KR”. Two of the four tires on the offending vehicle were punctured, but the vehicle continued north, albeit at a slower speed.
Additional sticks were deployed at Highway 11. This time all four tires were hit, but that still didn’t stop the driver. Just north of Highway 11 on the curve, a Mt. Pleasant officer then intentionally struck the vehicle in a bid to get it to stop. But it spun around, with the driver now back-tracking before turning west on Highway 11 and ramming a squad car in the process.
At this point, the driver was continuing to head west on 11 but driving in the east bound lanes.
An officer then rammed the offending vehicle a second time, finally forcing it to a halt.
The driver, 41 year-old Aaron Kimberly of Kansasville, was taken into custody and turned over to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Dept.
At the time of the chase, Kimberly was out on bond in Kenosha County for allegedly driving without a license and failing to install an ignition interlock.
