Feingold Stops in Racine

U.S. Senate candidate Russ Feingold was greeted by a large, enthusiastic crowd at Wilson's Tea and Coffee in West Racine over the noon hour Thursday, part of the Democrat's latest tour of all 72 Wisconsin counties in his effort to defeat Republican incumbent Ron Johnson in the November election. Feingold said during his travels across the state, he's been listening to the people of the state about what's important to them.Feingold was critical of what he called the "hostile corporate take-over" of Wisconsin by the Koch Brothers, who have taken control of all levels of state government, and now have higher goals. Feingold said one thing he hears almost everywhere he goes is the struggle of middle class, working families to pay their bills.

The former senator said after Democrats take control of the White House and the Senate, bills will be drafted to increase in the minimum wage, create family leave, take care of the nation's veterans, and help seniors on Medicare.  Feingold also said Social Security needs to be protected, student loan reforms are needed and more funding should be made available to fix the country's infrastructure and to expand broadband internet services.
