Finalists for Bucks' New D-League Team Include Racine and Just Two Other Cities

Racine has two fewer competitors to contend with as it goes after a chance to host the Milwaukee Bucks' new player development team.

LaCrosse and Grand Chute have reportedly dropped out of the running, leaving Racine, Sheboygan and Oshkosh.

Racine Mayor John Dickert says he believes Racine has a leg up in t he competition because of it's close proximity to Milwaukee, but Racine seemingly has no existing facility for the new team to occupy, unlike Sheboygan which is looking to convert an old armory into an arena.

Officials in Racine are scraping together funds to study the feasibility of building an arena somewhere in the downtown area. Potential sites have not been disclosed.

Putting added pressure on the process is the Bucks' desire to have the team up and running for the 2017-2018 season.
