Interviews Scheduled With Four Finalists For Racine Police Chief

(WGTD)---Four finalists for the position of Racine police chief are expected to be interviewed by the Police and Fire Commission next week. The current chief, Art Howell, is retiring. 

According to a news release from the city, the four are Lynn "Al" Fear, Todd Hansen, Alexander Ramirez and Maurice Robinson. They were chosen from a pool of 15 applications following a nationwide search. No internal candidates were scheduled to be interviewed.

Fear spent most of his law enforcement career with the Cedar Rapids Police Dept. His last position was Patrol Division Commander. He holds a Masters in Mental Health/Psychology and is a Certified Mediator/Arbitrator.

Hansen is the police chief of Maple Heights, Ohio. Hansen holds a law degree from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.

Ramirez holds the position of Inspector in the Milwaukee Police Department. He has a Master of Arts degree in Public Service with a specialization in Criminal Justice Administration.

Robinson is currently a district commander in the Cincinnati Police Dept. He holds an M.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati. 

The interviews are scheduled to take place Saturday, Mar. 6th.
