KUSD Superintendent Search Delayed Because of Upcoming Election

Feb. 6, 2022 8a

(WGTD)---The search for a new Kenosha Unified superintendent is being delayed in order to give the next school board a chance to get in on the ground floor of the process.

A school board meeting that had been scheduled for Monday night to choose a consulting firm to help in the search has been postponed. School Board President Yolanda Adams made the call. "After some conversations I had with community members and board members on beginning the superintendent search process two months prior to the election of school board members, I decided postponing the session was a good idea so I moved on it," she said.

Three of the seven school board seats are up for election in April. One incumbent--Tony Garcia--declined to seek re-election.

Interim KUSD Superintenent Beth Ormseth--a former principal at LakeView Technology Academy--has said she doesn't want the job permanently. Ormseth was hired as interim after Sue Savaglio-Jarvis retired. She's now the principal of a private school in Caledonia.
