July 1, 2021 9:30p

From WGTD News:

The third drowning victim in a string of incidents that occurred last month in Lake Michigan at Racine has been identified. Lily Lambert of Greendale was the 14-year-old who'd been in critical condition every since she went under near the North Pier while swimming with a friend June 21st. She died earlier this week. Strong currents were believed to be responsible for Lily's death as well as the drowning deaths of a 10-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy. Weather conditions that enhance dangerous swimming conditions are expected to be present through Friday evening when a warning from the National Weather Service is expected to expire. Meanwhile, in a bid to keep swimmers safe, Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave announced Thursday that the county has purchased $2,500 worth of daily passes to the new SC Johnson Community Aquatic Center. They'll be handed out by various community groups, including Racine Unified. Additional  passes are available for pickup on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Dennis Kornwolf Racine County Service Center on Taylor Ave.

Robinson, who is Black, was selected over a dozen other candidates who applied for the seat vacated for health reasons by Dan Wade. The unanimous vote came after two rounds of public interviews. Robinson scored the highest number of points among four finalists. They included Patrick Langton, owner of Kenosha Beauty Supply; Aziz Al-Sager, a funeral home director, and Valerie Douglass, a teacher who narrowly lost a bid for school board in the April election.

A third rape charge has been filed against 46-year-old Matthew Crockett of Racine. According to criminal complaints, Crockett was initially tied to the assaults by a DNA genealogy search conducted by investigators. In the latest case, Crockett is accused of luring a 17-year-old runaway into his vehicle in Racine back in 2017 then sexually assaulting her. In separate Kenosha cases, Crockett is accused of forcing two women into his car where the assaults allegedly occurred.
