From WGTD News:

A Go-Fund-Me account has been established for a Walworth County Sheriff's deputy who was seriously injured while trying to intervene in a high-speed chase over the weekend. Deputy Wayne Blanchard was struck when a suspected drunk driver lost control at a high rate of speed on State Highway 120 south of East Troy early Sunday morning. The deputy had positioned himself behind a guard rail and was preparing to deploy a tire deflation device. But the driver--25-year-old Tony Perales of Racine--lost control and struck the deputy. Blanchard's injuries were described as "severe" in a news release issued Monday by Sheriff Kurt Picknell. The organizer of the online fund drive said that Blanchard underwent two surgeries in the first hours after the crash and is expected to undergo multiple medical procedures in the coming days. Blanchard is a former Marine who's been on the force for some 20 years. The chase began when Perales was observed driving through Lake Geneva at 60 mph.

The body of a 31-year-old Illinois man was pulled from Geneva Lake Monday morning after he drowned while boating Sunday evening. Authorities said Antonio Delasancha jumped in off his boat near Big Foot Beach after his son started to struggle in the water. The 11-year-old boy was wearing a flotation device, but his father wasn't. Although sonar detected the father's body in about 45 ft. of water late Sunday night, a decision was made for safety reasons to hold up on making the actual recovery until the morning. That's when the divers went in and recovered the body.

Bond for a 19-year-old Kenosha man who's facing a charge of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide was set at $1 million Monday. Victor Ramos allegedly shot and killed a moped rider at 52nd St. and 19th Ave. Thursday afternoon. After being shot, Hector Rodgriguez-Rojas parked his bike in the middle of the road and ran to a nearby store where he collapsed. According to the criminal complaint, he'd been shot three times from a vehicle that pulled up alongside. Investigators fingered Ramos after examining surveillance video. The complaint offers no possible motive.

The dry weather and a property owner's apparent negligence are to blame for a fire that destroyed a barn on Spring St. north of Union Grove Monday morning. The sheriff's department said the owner recently burned brush in a burning pit on his property. At some point, embers ignited the grass, and flames traveled to the barn. The structure was destroyed along with its contents, including two goats. A passerby spotted the fire and phoned in the alarm.

Gunplay that apparently began in the parking lot of North Beach in Racine over the weekend led to the arrest of a 35-year-old Racine man. According to a criminal complaint, a drunk Ryian Busby got into an argument with his estranged wife and fired a shot. She drove off, then heard more shots and later observed that her car had four bullet holes on the passenger side.  The woman returned home later in the evening to find Busby under a blanket on the front porch.
