From WGTD News:
A Pleasant Prairie man convicted twice in the anti-freeze poisoning death of his wife 25 years ago was sentenced again in Kenosha Court Friday morning. The result for Mark Jensen was the same: Life in prison with no chance of parole. The sentencing by Judge Anthony Milisauskas came following a nearly four-week-long retrial held in January. The second trial was necessitated by an appeals process that ended favorably for the defendant. Milisauskas made clear Friday that he had no problem with the jury’s verdict, saying the evidence was overwhelming. Jensen read a statement in which he asked for a shot at parole so he could provide support for his children and his elderly parents. While saying that the desire to help his family was admirable, Milisauskas remembered the victim. “She will never get to see her children grow up because she was murdered by the defendant,” he said. Jensen flashed a smile as he was led out of the courtroom.

A 19-year-old Caledonia man is accused of intentionally trying to run down a highway flagman. Trevor Bolin was released this week on a $10,000 bond after being charged with first degree recklessly endangering safety. According to the criminal complaint, Bolin refused to slow down in a construction zone at a bridge near Highway G and 51st St. in Franksville. One of the workers had to jump into a ditch to avoid being struck. The flagger and a co-worker then followed the offending vehicle to a residence. Bolin reportedly got out of his pick up and flipped off the workers with both hands. Bolin, in a subsequent conversation with a deputy, downplayed the incident, saying he wasn’t going that fast and was not aiming to hit the flagman.

The Kenosha Police and Fire Commission is expected to begin the search soon for a new fire chief. But they’ve got a lot of time to complete the task before the current chief, Christopher Bigley, retires. Bigley told the commission in a letter that he won’t step down until April of next year, saying he hopes that his successor will be on board by then in order to complete a smooth transition. Bigley has been with the department for over 30 years. He was appointed chief in Sept. of 2021.
