Somers--Steam pipes are leaking—the floor plan isn’t conducive to current needs. 44 year-old Wyllie Hall—one of the major buildings on the inter-connected UW-Parkside campus—isn’t falling down but it is in need of major repairs and renovation.
Speaking on a recent edition of the Morning Show, Parkside Chancellor Debbie Ford said she hopes that the $35 project will be included in the next state budget. The UW Board of Regents has already approved the construction--twice. But it failed to get funding in the current state budget biennium.
Had Gov. Walker and the legislature approved the project when it was first proposed they would've spent some $6 million less.
Wyllie Hall houses the library, classrooms, computer labs, key administrative offices and the Main Place commons area.
The last big construction project at Parkside was the renovation and expansion of the theater and music performances area some four years ago.
