(WGTD)---Elections for various non-partisan offices are Tuesday.
Voters will be selecting town, village, city and county officer-holders, along with school board members. Several judicial candidates are on the ballot, including the only statewide race. Voters will replace the retiring State Supreme Court Justice Shirley Abrahamson. Two appeals court judges, Lisa Neubauer of Racine and Brian Hagedorn, are the choices.
This year’s spring election has a twist. There’s a partisan primary in the 64th Assembly district, where three Democrats are facing off in hopes of advancing to a special election on April 30th to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Peter Barca. Barca resigned to become Revenue Department Secretary in the Evers administration. The winner of Tuesday's primary will face Republican Mark Stalker.
In Racine County, Jamie McClendon and Jon Frederickson are vying for a circuit court vacancy. Maureen Martinez is running unopposed for another seat.
Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave is unopposed.
Racine Mayor Cory Mason was unopposed until a few weeks ago when Alderwoman Sandy Weidner announced that she would run as a write-in.
There are races for a half-dozen Racine City Council seats.
Voters in the Salem School District will decide whether the district will be able to exceed levy limits for three years in a row.
