(WGTD)---Early voting is starting to wind down in advance of next Tuesday's presidential election.
At the start of Thursday's voting, nearly 57% of Kenosha's registered voters either sent in or dropped off absentee ballots, or voted in-person. Other municipalities are reporting comparable numbers.
While each city, village and town in the state has some flexibility in running its own election operation, there are certain parameters that must be followed.
For one thing, the statewide deadline for accepting voter registrations before election day is Friday at 5 p.m.
Election clerks, however, can host early-voting through Sunday. Some elect to do so while others call it quits ahead of the deadline.
The City of Racine will offer early-voting at Festival Hall nearly up until the deadline. The City of Kenosha ends the offer Friday at 5 p.m.
On Tuesday, polls open uniformly at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Same-day registration is offered at all polling places in Wisconsin.
Absentee ballots need to be delivered to election clerks' offices by 8 p.m. Tuesday.
