Bond Set for a Former Kenosha County Board Supervisor as a New Charge Surfaces

(WGTD)---A $75,000 bond was set Monday for a former Kenosha County Board Supervisor who's facing drug charges.

47-year-old Andy Berg allegedly sold drugs to a confidential informant and bought two guns for an individual that he allegedly knew was a convicted felon. A search of Berg’s home in the 2900 blk. of 31st Ave. purportedly netted drugs, drug packaging materials and ledgers.

In court Monday, District Attorney Xavier Solis requested a $300,000 bond, but Court Commissioner Bill Michel set the lower figure after Berg's attorney requested a signature bond.

The defense attorney criticized the district attorney's office for failing to provide a criminal complaint, even though Berg was arrested on Friday. However, Solis said that the investigation isn't complete and that the final set of charges could change.

Michel gave Solis 48 hours to draft the complaint, and scheduled a Wednesday 1 p.m. adjourned initial appearance.

In addition to the drug charges, Berg is to formally face a criminal charge unrelated to the drug case.

A criminal complaint for theft has been filed against Berg for allegedly using the credit card of a non-profit he once ran to buy personal items and services. The criminal complaint says a police detective, following up on a tip, subpoenaed the bank account linked to the Garden of Eatin-Kenosha non-profit and made the discoveries.

Berg lost his county board re-election bid in 2024 by one vote to Felix Garcia.
