Business Development Consultant to Host Summits for Entrepreneurs

Oct. 15, 2026 6:45p

(WGTD)----A former Gateway Technical College administrator who now runs her own business development firm has organized an event that's designed to give budding entrepreneurs a helping hand.

It'll take place Sunday from 1 to 6 then will be repeated Monday evening from 4 to 7. Both will be held at New Omega Church on Northwestern Ave. in Racine.

While speakers and sessions will cover all aspects of starting a business, a cornerstone component will be hands-on help and a financial boost for participants who want to file the paperwork with the state and federal government to make the business official. "Just even completing and filling out your incorporation paperwork with the state of Wisconsin--there are barriers sometimes--mental, physical and financial barriers--to start," said Stacia Thompson, founder of the Stacia Thompson Impact Collective.

Startup "scholarships" will cover the $130 state filing fee.

The event is co-sponsored by a number of entities, including several financial institutions, such as Chase, Associated Bank and Educators Credit Union.

There is a $35 registration fee to cover the costs of the workshops, materials and food.
