(WGTD)---The 15-year-old Case High School student who allegedly stabbed another student in the back was charged Friday with attempted first degree intentional homicide.
Appearing from juvenile detention via video Friday afternoon, the boy was ordered held by Judge Timothy Boyle on a $25,000 cash bond. House arrest with GPS monitoring was authorized.
The complaint quotes the defendant, who is Black, as saying he was bullied on a daily basis by a "white kid."
The 16-year-old victim and his assailant were alone in a bathroom adjacent to the Case cafeteria when the stabbing occurred Tuesday. The injuries were not life-threatening.
The defendant reportedly told investigators that he got "sick of the bullying and stabbed the kid in the back." But the victim vehemently denied even knowing the boy, much less having any interaction with him.
The defendant has "significant cognitive delays" as the result of developmental disabilities, according to the boy's grandmother, whom he lives with.
A competency hearing, requested by the boy's attorney, was scheduled by Judge Boyle for Dec. 9th.
The complaint says the defendant brought the knife that was used in the stabbing from home.
