Dramatic Video Released of Raymond Fire Rescue

Dec. 3, 2025 7:30p

(WGTD)---A Racine County Sheriff's deputy battled thick smoke to rescue a four-year-old child in a Village of Raymond house fire Monday afternoon. While the child was rescued, a 38-year-old woman from Milwaukee--Jenna Zuehlke--died.

According to a release from the sheriff's office, the deputy, first tried to enter the home through an attached garage to get to a crying child, but was driven back by thick smoke. He then went to the front door, where a Raymond fire chief and a Town of Norway police officer were unable to get to the child. The deputy--who wasn't identified in the release--ran in and was able to pull the girl from a basement stairwell.

The deputy tried to go back in to locate a woman who was believed to be inside, but dense smoke made that rescue impossible.

Firefighters with protective gear and breathing apparatus eventually arrived and brought out the woman. She was not able to be resuscitated.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but so far it's not believed to be suspicious.

The sheriff's office released body cam images of the rescue.
