Some people almost seem born for the jobs they hold. And so it is with award-winning Kenosha Unified elementary school principal Sheb Muhammad.
"It's always been about how can I keep having a bigger impact on kids and families and improving their lives," Muhammad said during Saturday's "Education Matters" program. "I always say I get paid to do what I love--help people."
Rising from Chicago’s public housing projects, Muhammad discovered his calling while attending Carthage College. He’s now entering his 6th year as principal of Grant Elementary.
He recently received the Mahone Fund’s Signature Award.
Muhammad was interviewed by program co-host Joe Mangi, a former KUSD superintendent. For the full program, go here.
