(WGTD)---A woman with with a background in philanthropy, higher education and workforce development in Lake County has been picked to fill a new position at Gateway Technical College.
Laura Gergely will become Gateway's first Vice President of Advancement & Strategic Partnerships, according to an email from Gateway President Veronique Tran.
Most recently, Gergely served as Director of Development for the College of Lake County Foundation. She led that school's first formal capital campaign which exceeded its $15 million goal, the email said.
Tran, who became Gateway's president at the beginning of the school's new fiscal year last summer, is looking to broaden program support beyond traditional forms of revenue from the state, property tax levy and student tuition.
