Impeachment 101: WGTD's Morning Show Takes a Broader, Historical Look

Oct. 11, 2019, 4:15p

(WGTD)---Carthage College Political Science Prof. Jerry Mast says he thinks the growing anxiety level among his students as the presidential impeachment inquiry plays out seems to reflect the mood of the nation as a whole.

Fear can be a good thing, Mast argues, as its prompts people to pay closer attention to what's going on. On the other hand, it can lead to increased polarization and the support of what he calls "undemocratic actions." In other words, viewing the ends as justifying the means.

Speaking on Friday's Morning Show, Mast lays out the case against President Trump and summarizes his defenses while putting current developments in a historical context.
