The closed Dream Playground and the apparent lack of action to fix problems with the rubber flooring to get it open again, dominated citizens comments at last night's Kenosha City Council meeting.
Tammy Conforti, who spearheaded the effort to build the all-inclusive playground, got emotional while asking city officials to come up with a solution to get the playground open again. Sarah Billings told aldermen it's time to get the playground flooring fixed. Karen Halter said she never believed the project would become so political. Jamie Forsythe told city officials to stop playing the blame game. City officials have revealed no time line for fixing the rubberized flooring, designed to protect children using the playground from suffering head injuries. The playground was closed 8 weeks ago after problems with the flooring were discovered. The council has authorized a lawsuit against the contractor who installed the surface. (Courtesy of WRJN Radio)
