Two KUSD Students Arrested in Threat Incidents

(WGTD)---It's been another rough week for Kenosha Unified. 

Two students have been arrested for allegedly making terrorist threats in separate incidents. 

On Monday, an 8th grade student at Lance Middle School used the social media app Discord to to threaten a classmate and "shoot up" the school, according to police. The student was suspended. A subsequent search of his home yielded no weapons. 

On Tuesday, an 11-year-old student at Bullen Middle School made online threats. He was arrested. No weapons were found in his home. Police said the boy's parents were present and were cooperative. 

Bullen's attendance was 28% lower than usual on Wednesday, according to a district spokesperson. 

Last week a Bradford High School student was shot and killed while with a group of teens involved in a gun transaction near Library Park. A day later a Bradford student was arrested at school after officers found him to be in possession of ammunition. 

KUSD administration is researching the purchase of passive weapon detection systems for the district's high schools.
